From P-3 Orions to Par 3s.
Ik ben geboren in Chicago en opgegroeid in Clarksdale (Mississippi Delta) — waar de gesprekken op de veranda grappiger waren dan welke comedyshow dan ook en niemand zich snel ergens door liet imponeren. Die houding nam ik mee naar Norfolk State University, waar ik basketbal speelde voor de Spartans, en in 1996 wonnen we het CIAA-toernooi. Ziehier, het Groen en Goud!
Na mijn studie aan Norfolk State gaf ik wiskunde op de middelbare school en daarna aan de universiteit. Vervolgens meldde ik me aan bij de Amerikaanse marine. Mijn carrière bracht ik door met het vliegen in P-3 Orions – in alle oorlogsgebieden, ik ontving een paar Air Medals en eindigde als luchtmachtofficier in het Midden-Oosten en Zuidoost-Azië. Ik kwam thuis met verhalen die ik meestal voor mezelf houd.
In 2020 kwam ik in aanraking met golf. Het bleek dat ik er best goed in was geworden – in 2024 won ik het Palmer Flight National Championship op de US Amateur Tour en werd ik uitgeroepen tot Nationale Speler van het Jaar op de Amateur Players Tour. In hetzelfde seizoen. Ik zeg dit met de bescheidenheid van iemand die ooit een bal recht in iemands huis heeft geslagen.
Par For The Wit is voor de echte kenners. Degenen die een beetje pit meebrengen, grappen maken bij de wisseling van de holes, scherp aankomen en nog scherper vertrekken. De locals, de laatbloeiers, de "nog één rondje"-groep – en vooral de onderschatten. Wij maken petten, T-shirts en zonnekleppen die zeggen wat jij denkt.

I took that attitude to Norfolk State University, played basketball for the Spartans, and in 1996 we won the CIAA Tournament. BEHOLD, The Green And Gold!
After Norfolk State I taught high school math, then college. Then I raised my right hand and joined the U.S. Navy. Spent my career flying P-3 Orions — every theater, a couple of Air Medals, finished up as an Air Liaison Officer in the Middle East and Southeast Asia. Came home with stories I mostly keep to myself.
Then golf found me in 2020. Turns out I got decent at it — in 2024 I won the Palmer Flight National Championship on the US Amateur Tour and took National Player of the Year on the Amateur Players Tour. Same season. I say this with the humility of a man who has shanked a drive into somebody's house.
Par For The Wit is for the real ones. The ones who bring a little edge, crack jokes at the turn, show up sharp and leave sharper. The locals, the late bloomers, the "just one more round" crew — and especially the underestimated. We make hats, tees, and visors that say what you've been thinking.
