Meu amor por criar coisas interessantes e bonitas dura toda a vida. Realmente decolou aos 11 anos, quando minha avó me ensinou a fazer crochê. Daquele ponto em diante, nunca mais consegui fio suficiente. Agora, aos 66 anos, meu estoque é extenso. Alguns diriam beirando a horda.
Na primavera de 2010, tomei a decisão de deixar minha carreira como caminhoneiro para cuidar de meus pais. Não demorou muito para eu precisar de uma saída para minha criatividade. Alguém sugeriu que eu desse uma olhada no Etsy. Em julho de 2010, abri minha loja, batizando-a de TexasTangledThreads. Qualquer pessoa com um estoque de fios e linhas pode adivinhar de onde veio o nome. Além disso, meu irmão costumava me provocar por pegar fios perfeitamente retos e emaranhá-los de propósito ... ele era um grande provocador.
Agora, com meu tempo novamente, acrescentei meu amor por coisas antigas às minhas criações de fibra. Quando encontro algo do início de 1900 ou antes, sinto que uma janela se abriu na história. Agora estou compartilhando algumas das minhas descobertas com meus clientes aqui no Etsy.
My love of creating interesting and beautiful things is life long. It really got off the ground at age 11 when my grandmother taught me to crochet. From that point on, I could never get enough yarn. Now, at age 66 my stash is extensive. Some would say verging on hording.
In the spring of 2010, I made the decision to leave my career as an over the road trucker to care for my parents. It did not take long for me to need an outlet for my creativity. Someone suggested I look at Etsy. In July of 2010, I opened my shop, naming it TexasTangledThreads. Anyone with a stash of yarn and thread can guess where the name came from. Plus, my brother used to tease me about taking perfectly straight yarn and tangeling it all up on purpose.... he was a great tease.
Now, with my time my own again, I have added my love of old things to my fiber creations. When I find something from the early 1900's or before I feel like a window has opened in history. I am now sharing some of my finds with my customers here on Etsy.
