Our family always wanted a pet, but allergies kept the usual choices off the table. No cats, no dogs, nothing with fur.
So we started looking at pets that don't shed, and that's how we found tree frogs. One look at Jade (a White's tree frog), with that sleepy smile and those sticky toes, and we were hooked. She turned out to be the perfect fit for our home.
Then came our first trip away. We had someone wonderful lined up to look after our frog: careful, kind and happy to help, but they'd never cared for a frog before. So we wrote it all down in a guide simple enough for a kid to follow, with blanks for our own numbers and a checklist for every day we were gone. We came home to a happy frog and a sitter who felt confident the whole time.
