Criando, fazendo coisas com as mãos, beleza e utilidade. Arte e artesanato sempre fizeram parte da minha vida. Minha mãe era estilista e estilista, e a primeira mulher da nossa família a frequentar a faculdade. Eu me tornei a segunda geração a obter um diploma de arte quando me formei no New York State College of Cerâmica, School of Art & Design da Alfred University com meu BFA em Studio Art. Cresci visitando grandes instituições metropolitanas dedicadas à arte e à cultura com meus pais, e na adolescência fui exposto à noção de artesanato como profissão quando comecei a trabalhar para um oleiro em um ofício local. justo. A ideia de ganhar a vida através da criatividade ao mesmo tempo em que combina beleza e utilidade nunca me deixou. Estou apaixonado pelo movimento das Artes e do Ofício e sua filosofia de se cercar com objetos cuidadosamente escolhidos, esteticamente agradáveis e práticos. A relação dos Shakers com seus arredores também é uma das minhas inspirações, uma entre muitas. Levo essas influências, bem como minha formação em arte, muito em consideração quando escolho o tipo de itens que crio ou embelezo, e a forma como são adornados. Minha arte mista e interdisciplinar foi mostrada em shows individuais e em grupos em Washington, DC, Maryland, Kentucky e Nova York. Atualmente minhas peças de artesanato podem ser encontradas no centro de Louisville, Kentucky na Galeria de Artesanato.
É um prazer ver as pessoas gostando do que eu fiz, para mim compartilhar minha criatividade e entusiasmo, e uma honra quando essas pessoas se tornam meus clientes e fazem uma das minhas peças suas.

Atualmente resido em Louisville, Kentucky com meu marido, Neal e nossos três gatos, Rupert, La Vache e Oberon. Sou um ávido caminhante, entusiasta de mochileiros (mais de 200 milhas no AT em 2008), voluntário com o Serviço Florestal, porca de história e reinator histórico com a SCA (10o C. persona anglo-saxão) e um profissional jurídico durante a semana.

Creating, making things with your hands, beauty and usefulness. Art and craft have always been a part of my life. My mother was a fashion designer and stylist, and the first woman in our family to attend college. I became the second generation to obtain an art degree when I graduated from the New York State College of Ceramics, School of Art & Design at Alfred University with my BFA in Studio Art. I grew up visiting major metropolitan institutions dedicated to art and culture with my parents, and as a teenager I was exposed to the notion of craft as a profession when I began working for a potter at a local craft fair. The idea of making a living through one’s creativity while combining beauty and usefulness has never left me. I am enamored by the Arts and Crafts movement and its philosophy of surrounding oneself with carefully-chosen, aesthetically-pleasing and practical objects. The relationship of the Shakers to their surroundings is also one of my inspirations, one among many. I take these influences, as well as my training in art, very much into consideration when I choose the type of items that I create or embellish, and the manner in which they are adorned. My mixed-media and cross-disciplinary artwork has been shown in solo and in group shows in Washington, DC, Maryland, Kentucky and New York. Currently my craft pieces can be found in downtown Louisville, Kentucky at Craft Gallery.
It is a pleasure to witness folks enjoying what I have made, for me to share my creativity and enthusiasm, and an honor when those folks become my customers and make one of my pieces their own.

I currently reside in Louisville, Kentucky with my husband, Neal and our three cats, Rupert, La Vache and Oberon. I am an avid hiker, backpacking enthusiast (200+ miles on the AT in 2008), volunteer with the Forest Service, history nut and historical reinactor with the SCA (10th C. Anglo-Saxon persona) and a legal professional during the week.
