The forgotten era of East Germany - the country was from 1949 until 1990 when it was dissolved and were reunited into West Germany (BRD).
The DDR as it was known in german (Deutsche Demokratische Republik) was a communist vassal state of the former USSR - the sowjet union.
So what u buy here, are history - stamps from a long "dead" country - they are from the start of the 60ties.
Stamps is depicting the 1. secretary (chairman and leader) of DDR - Walter Ulbricht.
He was the leader of DDR from 1961 until 1971.
