Marbling is an ancient method of aqueous surface design, which can produce patterns similar to marble or other stone, hence the name. The patterns are the result of color floated on water, and then carefully transferred to a sheet of fine paper, fabric or other material.
Marbled paper, as a decorative material, has been used to cover a variety of surfaces for several centuries. It is often employed as a writing surface for calligraphy, and especially book covers and endpapers in bookbinding, restoration, conservation and stationery.
But could be used for origami, collage, framing, box covering, tag creation, ACEOs (Art Cards, Editions and Originals), greeting cards, invitations and home decor items.
If you have other creative uses, please let us know. We always love to hear interesting stories of how our products are being used. Or even better, send us some pictures.
Part of its appeal is that every sheet is different, ONE OF A KIND, as only one sheet can be made each time.
