Practical tools created by someone who understands the documentation
The ILS Resource Room was created from real-world experience supporting individuals as they build greater independence in their everyday lives.
After years of working in residential and independent living services, I saw how much meaningful work happens during an ordinary day—budgeting at the grocery store, preparing for a medical appointment, learning to cook a meal, organizing a schedule, navigating the community, or practicing self-advocacy.
I also saw how difficult it can be for support professionals to put that work into words.
The ILS Resource Room was created to make that part easier.
Our resources are designed to help ILS professionals recognize the skills they are already teaching and document those services in a clear, objective, person-centered way.
I believe documentation should do more than record where someone went or what activity they completed. It should tell the story of the skills being developed, the individual's participation, the support provided, and the progress being made toward greater independence.
That's the idea behind everything created here:
**Document the skill. Show the growth. Support independence.**
Thank you for the important work you do every day—and welcome to The ILS Resource Room.
