Hola, mi nombre es Minnie y bienvenido a Minnie's Homemade Crafts!
Principalmente hago ropa para bebés y niños porque siempre he querido tener mi propia boutique desde que era muy joven. Comencé a diseñar todos estos grandes vestidos elegantes con mis amigos en la escuela primaria y siempre he sido creativa e inspirada para hacer algo. Me encantó ir a la gran tienda de artesanía con mi madre y obtengo mi creatividad de ella porque es muy talentosa cuando se trata de decorar pasteles. ¡También son deliciosos! Ella también me cosió a mano bastante bunting con mi nombre en él. Todavía lo tengo colgado.
Cuando comencé la escuela secundaria, mis asignaturas favoritas eran textiles y educación física, ya que también soy una persona muy activa. Esta fue la primera vez que usé una máquina de coser (11 años). Lo primero que hice fue una funda de cojín y digamos que no era muy bonita. Recuerdo que no era muy buena para coser a mano y cuando mi maestra lo vio me dijo: "¡Espero que no tomes textiles para GCSE!". Al año siguiente elegí textiles para uno de mis GCSE........
Cada año la escuela hacía un desfile de moda para los estudiantes de GCSE y un año hice un niño de 2 años para mis hermanas amigas hijo. Terminé el romper y estaba muy orgulloso de ello. Era un gingham azul con nubes de lana y un bolsillo en el medio con un sol. Entonces el chico para el que lo hice se retiró del desfile de modas y entré en pánico porque no conocía a ninguna otra gente pequeña. Al final, mi hija maestra tuvo que usarlo. Como todavía nos quedaban un par de semanas hasta el desfile de modas, pensé que haría otra cosa. Encontré un tutorial en YouTube sobre cómo hacer una manta y encontré una tela realmente agradable en el armario de textiles con perros Scottie en él. Esta fue la primera cosa que hice sin ninguna ayuda y estaba muy orgullosa de ello. A mi madre le encantó y se lo dimos a mi abuela como regalo.
Mi madre se dio cuenta de que me encantaba coser y me compró una máquina de coser de segunda mano en eBay. Yo, mamá y mi papá fuimos en un viaje de 1 hora para recoger la máquina de coser y estaba muy emocionada. Y así fue como conseguí mi primer cantante. Todavía lo uso ahora junto con un overlocker de cantante.
Tuve que dejar mi secundaria solo unos meses antes de los exámenes GCSE debido a que me intimidaron. Era demasiado tarde para unirme a otra escuela, así que fui educado en casa y no pude tomar mis GCSE. Pero eso no me impidió perseguir mi sueño de ser un empresario de mi propio negocio de costura de ropa. Me autodidacta cada vez más técnicas de costura y aprendí mucho de la web. Todavía estoy aprendiendo muchas cosas nuevas hoy.
Quiero que Minnie's Homemade Crafts sea especial para la gente. Productos que no puedes encontrar en ningún otro lugar. Funky, único, bonito, lindo, guapo. Espero que os gusten mis creaciones y os planteéis comprar.

Hi, my name is Minnie and welcome to Minnie’s Homemade Crafts!
I mainly make baby and children clothes because I’ve always wanted to have my own boutique ever since I was really young. I started designing all these big fancy dresses with my friends in primary school and I’ve always been creative and inspired to make something. I loved going to the big craft shop with my mum and I get my creativity from her because she is very talented when it comes to decorating cakes. They are delicious too! She also hand stitched me pretty bunting with my name on it. I still have it now hung up.
When I started secondary school my favourite subjects were textiles and P.E, as I am also a very active person. This was the first time I had ever used a sewing machine (11 years old). The first thing I ever made was a cushion cover and let’s just say it wasn’t very pretty. I remember I wasn’t very good at hand stitching and when my teacher saw it she said “I hope you don’t take textiles for GCSEs!”. The next year I chose textiles for one of my GCSEs........
Every year the school did a fashion show for the GCSE students and one year I made a 2 year old boys romper for my sisters friends son. I finished the romper and was so proud of it. It was blue gingham with fleece clouds and a pocket in the middle with a sunshine on it. Then the boy I made it for backed out of the fashion show and I was panicking because I didn’t know any other little people. In the end my teachers daughter had to wear it. As we still had a couple weeks left until the fashion show I thought I would make something else. I found a tutorial on YouTube on how to make a blanket and I found some really nice fabric in the textiles cupboard with Scottie dogs on it. This was the first ever thing I made without any help and I was so proud of it. My mum loved it and we gave it to my grandma as a gift.
My mum noticed that I loved sewing and she bought me a second hand sewing machine from eBay. Me, mum and my dad went on a 1 hour drive to collect the sewing machine and I was so excited. And that’s how I got my first singer. I still use it now along with a singer overlocker.
I had to leave my secondary only months before the GCSE exams due to being bullied. It was too late to join another school so I was homeschooled and couldn’t take my GCSEs. But that didn’t stop me from pursuing my dream of being an entrepreneur of my own sewing clothing business. I self taught myself more and more techniques of sewing and learnt so much from the web. I’m still learning lots of new things today.
