I love making things with my hands.
I grew up in California, currently live in Oregon. I am an artist, mother of four, and grandmother of two.
My mother and I taught ourselves to make pine-needle baskets with the help of a few very good books, websites, friends, observation, nature, and our own creativity and ingenuity. When I learned about pine-needle basketry, it immediately fascinated me. I began making baskets in Georgia using the beautiful, long, glossy needles of the yellow longleaf pine. I have continued making them in Oregon using the needles I brought with me, and the Ponderosa pine needles gathered here, as well as some Torrey Pine needles, sugar pine, and other materials. My baskets have sold in galleries across the country. I am now offering them through my MoonBugStudioShop on Etsy.
My grandmother taught me to crochet when I was a young girl, and I have been crocheting off and on ever since. I love the flow state I feel when creating something anytime my hands would otherwise be idle.
I am also a pencil artist, and will be offering cards and prints at some point in the future. Please check back!
