Handblown Glass Vessels Designed to Support Living Plants
Planted in Glass began with a simple idea: small handmade glass vessels can quietly support living things.
Each piece in this shop is individually handblown at the torch using borosilicate glass. I work slowly, shaping molten glass with heat, breath, and gravity until it forms a small vessel that can hold soil, water, and plant roots.
The series focuses on compact planters designed for succulents, cuttings, and small houseplants. Many of the vessels include drainage holes so they function as true planters rather than decorative containers. The goal is to create objects that are both sculptural and useful, glass forms that become part of the daily care of a living plant.
Because every vessel is formed by hand, patterns move naturally through the glass. Lines shift, colors blend, and each piece develops its own character during the making process. No two pieces are exactly the same.
I photograph each planter with real plants so you can see how the vessel will live in a space. The idea behind the series is simple: small plants deserve thoughtful homes.
All pieces are made in my studio in Simpsonville, South Carolina and carefully packed by hand before shipping.
Thank you for supporting handmade work and small studio craft.
