fun wood working and crafting
hi my names gary i'm 48 years old and live in the town of streatham south west london england a lot of the time wet windy and cold england my workshop is at the end of the garden it used to be a shed but don't tell anyone. I hand make all my items . i started woodworking and crafting a fews back when i used to make small wood gift boxes that i sold at a local fair and it was a great thill that some wanted to pay mony for some thing i have made. i then had a go at toy making my 1st toy was a wood rabbit on wheels for a family member and they love it so i started making toys and they have got a lot better since then .i think i got the craft and woodworking bug from my nan and grandad. my grandad was always making items for the home and my nan used to love to oil paint i always like to try and use a much recycled wood and materials that i can to save it going to the landfill.i always have to have a look in a skip or if some one is doing some building work or even old bits of furniture that have been chucked out you can get a fair amount of wood off cuts this way its good to give things a new life in some thing else clean it up and you got wood that is as good as new.i also get offcuts and end of line materials from some local companies.i came up with my shop name no batteries required because in this high tech world where everything has to have batteries its good to get back to good old basic simple toys and gifts that a child or grown up can just use with out having to read a 100 page manual to use it
