SCHELPEN:
Gevonden op de stranden van mijn geboortestad in Long Island, New York, langs de uitgestrekte, prachtige kusten van Florida, of in elk hoekje en gaatje van mijn huis, elke schelp in deze collectie is met de hand geplukt door mij of een geliefde. Selectie en verzameling is gebaseerd op een zorgvuldige afweging van hun textuur, vorm en kleur. De schelpen die het meest complementair aan elkaar zijn, worden vervolgens verzameld, gesorteerd en gerangschikt in de abstracte vormen die deze verzameling bevolken. Het hele proces is volledig spontaan; de arrangementen hier zijn impulsief, geïmproviseerd en volkomen uniek. Geen twee arrangementen zullen er ooit hetzelfde uitzien. Elke geselecteerde schaal heeft zijn eigen gevoel en zijn eigen karakter, en de natuurlijke eb en vloed die ze samen creëren, is de golf die mijn hand leidt.
SEASHELLS:
Found either on the beaches of my hometown in Long Island, New York, along the vast, beautiful shores of Florida, or in every nook and cranny of my home, every shell in this collection is hand-picked by either me or a loved one. Selection and collection is based on a careful consideration of their texture, shape, and color. The shells most complimentary to one another are then gathered, sorted, and arranged into the abstract shapes that populate this collection. The whole process is completely spontaneous; the arrangements here are impulsive, improvised, and entirely unique. No two arrangements will ever look the same. Every shell selected has its own feel, and its own character, and the natural ebb and flow that they create, together, is the wave that guides my hand.
