My path to quilting...
I learned how to sew at the young age of 8. My mother who also was my girls scout leader, would often teach all the girls to make clothing for our cabbage patch kids. My grandmother also loved to sew, and I would get lost in her sewing room playing with buttons for hours. I loved making button bracelets!
Although it wasn't until after I had a career as a floral designer, and dabbled in photography that I found myself at home welcoming my first son, with this new role I found some time at home to create and I bought my first sewing machine. I started out making little toys and clothes for my new baby. Then one day I moved on to trying a quilt... and I've never looked back! Quilting has become a passion, an obsession even. I find every part of quilting brings me so much joy! From picking out the fabrics, playing with color, cutting it all apart, piecing it all back together like a puzzle, quilting and even hand sewing the binding on, where I find a bit of relaxation and time to think. It's a process I have come to love.
Watching my quilts become treasures and being loved upon by little ones, truly makes me happy! Which is why I enjoy making them to be purchased and given to loved ones to cherish for years to come.
