My horses are my first love and biggest part of my life, could not live without them.
To find creativity in nature is simple, just look at all the natural beauty that surrounds you.
Have the freedom to take flight with what motivates you. Look at the small details in life the tell the real story.
One mans trash is another mans treasure, I find this to be so true of myself, people throw out diamonds in the ruff.

How it all started and continues to grow....

Who am I? Well I am first a horse girl for life, a wife, a mom to a horse crazy little girl, full time employed with an amazing career, horse back riding instructor and life long learner!

I am also so driven by fun and creative ideas that I want to bring to life and share with others, so there was born The Southern Root! I love making things that make me happy and others around me smile, it is a blessing to share that fun with others who share the love for everything horses!

I bring a touch of my OCD to my work in creating quality products that I can say I am proud of to share with another. Every item I make has come from the joy horses have brought to my life and my high standards of perfection in all things I set out to do. I hope that if you purchase one of my items that you will see all of that love and attention put into my work.
