Ciao, mi chiamo Liz e Thread Faction Studio è il mio piccolo mondo. Faccio tutto qui, capo cuoco e lavabottiglie per così dire, quindi tutto ciò che vedi qui è stato progettato, disegnato e realizzato da me!
Ho sempre amato fare cose e una volta che ho imparato a cucire all'età di circa sei anni non c'era modo di fermarmi. Ho cucito vestiti per bambole e orsacchiotti da bambina, e poi borse, costumi e tutti i miei abiti migliori da adolescente. Ho svolto una serie di lavori da giovane adulto, ho lavorato nel settore immobiliare, possedevo un salone di bellezza e, ci credereste, sono stato anche un istruttore di sport acquatici per un po'. Una volta che ho avuto il mio primo bambino, però, il mio cucito è tornato in primo piano e ho iniziato a progettare e produrre una gamma di pannolini di stoffa (pannolini). I pannolini di stoffa hanno portato a vestiti adatti ai pannolini di stoffa e poi i modelli per quei vestiti ed eccoci qui.
Adesso disegno tutti i tipi di vestiti per bambini e anche alcuni modelli per adulti limitati quando l'umore colpisce. Ma puoi ancora trovare quei primi modelli di pannolini lavabili nel nostro negozio, e non posso credere che il ragazzino per cui li ho disegnati originariamente sia al liceo adesso!
Trascorro cinque ore preziose ogni giorno nel mio studio (tra la fine della scuola e il ritiro), disegnando, cucendo, fotografando e scrivendo istruzioni ed è semplicemente il migliore! I modelli Thread Faction sono per i creatori, per gli adulti (e probabilmente un bel po' di kiddos e adolescenti se sono qualcosa come me) che vogliono fare cose per se stessi e per i fantastici e fantastici kiddos a cui tengono. Realizzo i miei schemi in modo che siano molto adatti ai principianti, guidandoti passo dopo passo attraverso tutte le basi con molte immagini e diagrammi. Hi, my name is Liz and Thread Faction Studio is my little world. I do everything here, chief cook and bottle washer as it were, so everything you see here was designed drafted and made by me!
I have always loved to make things, and once I learned to sew at around age six there was no stopping me. I sewed up doll and teddy clothes as a child, and then bags, costumes, and all my best outfits as a teen. I did a range of jobs as a young adult, worked in real estate, owned a beauty salon, and would you believe, I was even a water sports instructor for a while. Once I had my first kiddo though, my sewing took front seat again and I began designing and manufacturing a range of cloth nappies (diapers). Cloth nappies led to cloth nappy friendly clothes and then the patterns for those clothes and here we are.
I design all sorts of kids’ clothes now, and even some limited adult patterns when the mood strikes. But you can still find those first cloth nappy friendly patterns in our shop, and I can’t believe the kiddo I originally designed them for is in high school now!
I spend five precious hours each day in my studio (between school drop off and pick up), drafting, sewing, photographing, and writing instructions and it is just the best! Thread Faction patterns are for the makers, for adults (and probably a fair few kiddos and teens if they are anything like I was) who want to make things for themselves and the awesome, cool kiddos they care about. I make my patterns so that they are very beginner friendly, taking you step by step through all the basics with lots of pictures and diagrams. If you can follow a recipe you can sew one of our patterns. Let’s make a thing!
