I first started While He Was Napping at the encouragement of a friend. However, I was soon overwhelmed with being a new mom and some other changes that life threw our way. My shop was all but abandoned as my family and I made an incredibly fast and unexpected move for my husband's job. A job that requires him to travel a fair amount. In the time that he was away, I started a blog to fill my lonely evenings.

I discovered digital design by way of my blog. I am a DIY'er to the extreme and refused to let anyone else design my blog. I taught myself how to make elements, install them to my page and make them function the way I wanted them to. I spent HUNDREDS and HUNDREDS of hours teaching myself the secrets to digital designing. It wasn't long before I wanted to tackle other aspects of digital designing and my love for typography design was discovered.

I started designing typography in 2010 and have come a long way in my style and skill since then. I absolutely love doing custom pieces because I get to meet and connect with my customers as we work together to find something they really love and are proud to call their own.
