Way back in 1996 I was out of a job, out of money, and looking for something to do when I happened across a re-run of "Mad Max - Beyond Thunderdome" on TV. I saw Tina Turner's dress as Aunty Entity in that movie and said to myself, 'Hey! I can do that!'. So I went to the basement, turned some wire into rings, threw them on the floor and stared at them until the pattern popped out.
When I started showing my wares people asked me where I got my rings from. When they found out I made them they wanted to buy the rings for making their own projects. Now I offer other knitters some of the best rings on the Internet so they can focus on creating cool stuff instead of making rings.
Chain mail is not as lucrative or profitable as you might think. I took my artistry into a different direction making items out of recycled or thrift store finds. I like taking two or more items that were never meant to go together and making them into something new. There's no telling what might come out the other end of the process.
I promised myself I'd quit when it wasn't fun anymore. I'm still here!
