I use a variety of recycled and repurposed materials to create colorful, eye catching jewelry.

I love creating jewelry from recycled/repurposed materials. I especially like mixing materials, like metal and plastics, or stones and paper, often using color as a unifying element. I think using 'old stuff' is in my genes. My parents grew up during the Depression and they saved everything- old shoelaces, metal gizmos, plastic lids, worn out shoes. It’s no accident I’ve used each of those materials in my work! In addition to thrift, they also passed on the idea that you can substitute one thing for another and make it work.

My work has a playful, colorful look, that makes people smile when they realize you're wearing trash. They may do a double take- because it's beautiful! I take my workmanship seriously, and craft each piece to last for years.

I was a member of the Bead Society of Greater Chicago for many years, and won 2 awards in their annual bead challenge. In 2006 my cat themed rabies tag charm bracelet won the award for “most original design”. My pull tab earrings were featured in the August 2010 issue of Green Craft Magazine.
