Inspiration in Odd Places
L'inspiration est une chose amusante. Je crochete des cadeaux pour ma famille et mes amis depuis des années et j'apprécie ce passe-temps. J'ai déjà pensé à vendre une partie de mon travail, mais je n'ai jamais vraiment été prêt à m'engager à transformer mon passe-temps en entreprise. En décembre 2023, j'avais apporté un cadeau que j'avais fait lors d'une baby shower (c'était une couverture pour bébé qui ressemblait à un cheval). C'était une baby shower mixte et l'un des amis de mon mari m'a dit : "Tu devrais me faire une couverture des Eagles, ce serait génial !". Je n'y ai pas beaucoup réfléchi pendant quelques semaines. Après les vacances, je cherchais mon prochain projet et j'ai décidé de commencer à travailler sur la couverture Eagles. Conformément à ma routine habituelle lorsque je commençais quelque chose de nouveau, je me tournais vers Etsy pour trouver un modèle. Pour la première fois, je n’ai pas trouvé de modèle à acheter correspondant à ce dont j’avais besoin pour réaliser le projet. J'étais déterminé à fabriquer cette couverture, alors j'ai commencé à chercher comment créer vos propres motifs. Une fois que j’ai réalisé que j’avais réussi à créer un bel article à partir de mon propre modèle, quelque chose a cliqué, et c’est ainsi que South Shore Stitch est né.
Inspiration is a funny thing. I have been crocheting gifts for family and friends for years, and enjoy the hobby. I have thought about selling some of my work in the past, but was never really ready to commit to turning my hobby into a business. In December of 2023 I had brought a gift I made to a baby shower (it was a baby blanket that looked like a horse). This was a co-ed baby shower and one of my husbands friends said to me, "You should make me an Eagles blanket, that would be awesome!". I didn't give that much thought for a few weeks. After the holidays I was looking for my next project and decided I would start to work on the Eagles blanket. Per my normal routine when starting something new, I looked to Etsy to find a pattern. For the first time, I could not find a pattern to purchase that was what I needed to complete the project. I was determined to make this blanket though so I started researching how to create your own patterns. Once I realized I was successful in creating a beautiful item from my own pattern something clicked, and that was how South Shore Stitch was born.
