I grew up on a hobby farm in rural SW KS, learning to love the creative process while watching my father make what he called "junk art" from found objects. I went on to earn a BFA in Graphic Design/Illustration from The University of Kansas in Lawrence. After a series of personal losses, I adopted the mantra, "The sun always rises" along with my current fine folk art style. My incorporation of salvaged objects (hubcaps are a favorite) serves as a nod to my late father and is a metaphor for hope and redemption.
