JL. Comperat and M. Waring started designing and crafting contemporary glass decorative objects in 1978, hence the name of the studio 1178designs.
Their "non-formal" craft training and their free spirit allowed them to define their
own stained glass style. New ways to use glass are constantly under development in their studio. They are specially well for known for their jewelry boxes...
They have been featured in New york Magazine, New York Times, Daily News,
Casa Vogue, Architectural Digest, Elle Decor, ABC news, Scottish TV and many other publications. In 1997 they received an award for "excellence in design" from Metropolitan Home Magazine.
Glass Master Guild awarded them 1st prize at their 4th annual Art Glass Competition.
