Privacy Policy (Other)
This Privacy Policy describes how and when I collect, use, and share information when you place an order with me or use my services through Etsy.com or its linked sites and services.
This policy does not apply to the practices of third parties that I do not own or control, including Etsy or any third-party services you may access through Etsy. You can review Etsy's Privacy Policy to learn more about their practices.
Information I Collect
To process your order, you must provide me with certain information (which you have authorized Etsy to provide), including your name, email address, postal address, payment information, and a description of the product you are ordering. You may also choose to provide me with additional personal information (for example, if you order personalized keychains) by contacting me directly.
Why I Need Your Information and How I Use It
I rely on several legal bases to collect, use, and share your information, including:
to provide my services to you, for example, when I use your information to process your order, resolve a dispute, or provide customer service;
when you have given me your explicit consent, which you can revoke at any time, for example, by subscribing to my newsletter;
as necessary to comply with a legal obligation, court order, or in connection with a court request, such as retaining information about your purchases for tax purposes; and
as necessary to pursue my legitimate interests, provided those legitimate interests are not overridden by your rights or interests, such as 1) providing and improving my services. I use your information to provide the services you have requested and in my legitimate interest to improve those services; and 2) to comply with Etsy's Seller Guidelines and Terms of Use. I use your information as necessary to comply with my obligations under Etsy's Seller Guidelines and Terms of Use.
Sharing and Dissemination of Information
Information about my customers is important to my business. I only share your personal information for a very limited number of reasons and in limited circumstances, such as:
Etsy. I share your information with Etsy when necessary to provide my services and comply with my obligations under Etsy's Seller Guidelines and Terms of Use.
Service providers. I use certain trusted third parties to perform certain actions or provide certain services for my shop—for example, shipping companies. I may need to share your personal information with these third parties, but only to the extent necessary to provide those services.
Business transfers. If I sell my business or merge with another business, I may need to share your information as part of that transaction, but only to the extent permitted by law. Legal Compliance. I may collect, use, retain, and share your information if I have a good faith belief that doing so is reasonably necessary to: (a) respond to legal process or a government request; (b) enforce my agreements, terms, or policies; (c) prevent, investigate, or address fraud or other illegal activity, or technical or security issues; or (d) protect the rights, property, and safety of my clients or others.
Data Retention
I retain your information only for as long as necessary to provide you with my services and for the purposes set forth in my Privacy Policy. I may also retain this information to comply with legal and regulatory obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce my commitments. I generally retain it for a period of 4 years.
Transfers of Personal Information Outside the EU
I may potentially store and process your information through third-party hosting providers located in the United States or other countries. Therefore, I may transfer your personal information to a jurisdiction where the laws regarding data protection and government surveillance are different from those in your country. If I have to transfer your personal information outside the European Union, I rely on the Privacy Shield Framework (“Privacy Shield”).
