Life story in any place of the world
As a geologist maps led me trough the life in every moment. No matter what I do maps get into my hands. Soon I realized that that every map has it's own story. When I look at it, it reminds me something from my life. It can be my work project, hiking trip, my home place or city of my dearest friend. I never stop exploring those maps and experiencing everything all over again.
Important part of my maps is the possibility to incorporate the third dimension, that allow not only to see the shape of area but to feel the depth of valleys, hight of the mountains, deepness of the sees. This gives you opportunity to walk again in the very place on your finger tips.
In this shop I apply my knowledge of mapping skills in woodwork and presenting to you. All maps starts with gathering accurate digital satellite data and modeling. Later it is processed to adjust vertical and horizontal scales to look nice. Then it is sent to CNC milling machine to cut the map in 3D. Then I use laser to burn even more details like roads, rivers, lakes, borders. For the final I add hand finished colour details and varnishing. For maps I use plywood which is stable and reliable.
