Siempre he tenido, desde la infancia, curiosidad y una aptitud para diferentes materiales y cómo usarlos y mezclarlos. A lo largo de los años he experimentado diferentes técnicas: pintura, ensamblaje de esculturas, collage, costura, etc.

No tengo formación y educación específica, pero como persona creativa autodidacta, traté de mantener mi libertad e independencia de las modas o tendencias, siguiendo mi instinto y curiosidad por un material, o una técnica de construcción, o sintiéndome inspirada por artistas, diseñadores, personas creativas, lugares y momentos de la vida.

Las obras que expongo en mi tienda son un homenaje al artista estadounidense Jean Michel Basquiat. Leí y vi sobre él mientras me captaba Andy Warhol y su Factory y los movimientos artísticos de aquellos años, pero el primer encuentro real y abrumador con la obra de J.M. Basquiat tiene lugar durante unas vacaciones en Londres.
Estamos en 1996, la Serpentine Gallery acaba de inaugurar la primera gran exposición en Europa dedicada a JM Basquiat, y varias obras importantes se exhiben junto con algunas imágenes con entrevistas en las pantallas.

Algún tiempo después estoy en Venecia cuando la película 'Basquiat' de Julian Schnabel se presenta en el Festival de Cine de Venecia.
En 1999 otra exposición en el Museo Revoltella de Trieste me da una gran oportunidad de volver a conocer a Basquiat. En el mismo verano estoy colaborando con una asociación cultural para promover un evento relacionado con el 'street art', sobre todo sobre Graffiti Art. El invitado principal es Aaron Goodstone "Sharp", un grafitero neoyorquino, que había conocido a Basquiat, y habla de él contándome los episodios de su vida en ese periodo.

Todos estos eventos y encuentros se acumulan, sedimentan y eventualmente resurgen con el trabajo de los 'títeres'. Cada tema de los artículos hechos a mano es único, extrapolado de algunas de las obras del artista. De hecho, tal es la complejidad del trabajo de Basquiat que su comprensión, en mi opinión, requiere una especie de fragmentación para captar detalles cada vez más pequeños en los que centrarse. En este proceso cada tema toma forma y forma y me da la sensación de compartir con el gran artista, aunque sea en una pequeña parte, la emoción de la experiencia creativa.

I have always had, since childhood, curiosity and an aptitude for different materials and how to use and mix them together. Over the years I have experienced different techniques: painting, sculpture assemblage, collage, sewing and so on.

I do not have specific training and education, but as a creative self-taught person, I tried to keep my freedom and independence from the fashions or trends, following my instinct and curiosity for a material, or a construction technique, or feeling inspired by artists, designers, creative people, places and moments of life.

The works I am exhibiting in my shop are a tribute to the American Artist Jean Michel Basquiat. I read and saw about him while I was captured by Andy Warhol and his Factory and the artistic movements of those years, but the first real and overwhelming encounter with the work of J.M. Basquiat takes place during a holiday in London.
We are in 1996, the Serpentine Gallery has just opened the first major exhibition in Europe dedicated to JM Basquiat, and several important works are on display along with some footage with interviews on the screens.

Some time later I am in Venice when the film by Julian Schnabel's ‘Basquiat’ is presented at the Venice Film Festival.
In 1999 another exhibition at the Museum Revoltella in Trieste gives me a great chance to meet Basquiat again. In the same summer I am collaborating with a cultural association to promote an event related to the ’street art’, mostly about Graffiti Art. The main guest is Aaron Goodstone "Sharp" , a graffiti artist from New York , who had met Basquiat, and he talks about him telling me about the episodes of his life in that period.

All these events and meetings accumulate, sediment and eventually re-emerge with the work of the ‘puppets’. Every subject of the handmade items is unique, extrapolated from some of the artist's works. In fact, such is the complexity of Basquiat’s work that his understanding, in my opinion, requires a kind of fragmentation to catch smaller and smaller particulars to focus on. In this process each subject takes shape and form and gives me the feeling of sharing with the great artist, even if in a tiny part, the emotion of the creative experience.
