A Little Shop On A Mountain Top
In a small cabin high up in the Blue Ridge lives Seven Bends Studio, where Becky and Shane can be found making nature-inspired gifts and decor. Becky is a professional artist and designer (RebeccaRichitt.com), while Shane works handyman and farm jobs. In 2022, they put their crafty and creative minds together and created this shop. Today, Becky is making most of the products, but each item description will tell you who made what.
"Seven Bends" is a reference to the Shenandoah River, which cuts through the landscape of their mountaintop view. There is an iconic section of the river famous for it's seven bends, though the entire river has much more than that. "SB" also doubles as their initials - Shane and Becky.
**SHOP SMALL**
It would be a dream to profit off pottery, but in today's world, that's a hard goal to reach. Nearly all of our shop's earnings are rolled right back into expenses, such as clay, glaze, tools, paints, packaging materials, wheel and kiln maintenance, taxes, utilities, and more. It also covers time spent self-advertising, attending craft shows, cleaning and prepping the studio, reclaiming and wedging clay... and not to mention the hours of hand-sculpting and carving that goes into each piece. Thank you for choosing to shop small, and in doing so, supporting a family and their community rather than a large corporation.
