About A Beautiful Sign
A Beautiful Sign was founded in Romiley, Cheshire in 2013 by Nichola Holtby, a stay-at-home mum of three with a passion for creating meaningful keepsake gifts.
What started on the floor of her children’s playroom - fitting sign making around school runs and housework - quickly grew into something truly special.
In those early days, it was just Nichola, her love of poetry, a second-hand engraving machine and a rusty old container to work from in the back and beyond of a business park.
Fast forward to 2026, and A Beautiful Sign has grown into a thriving UK-based business, operating across two warehouse sites (still in the same business park) with a dedicated team working alongside Nichola and her family.
Despite this growth, the heart of the business remains the same—creating beautiful, heartfelt keepsakes that celebrate life’s most special moments.
The most rewarding part of the journey? Being able to work every day with her three children, building a business rooted in family, love, and creativity.
