A warm welcome to A Curious Space!
Hi, I’m Lisa — a registered children's counsellor with a Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy for Children and Young People. I have found it deeply rewarding supporting children, teens, and families in schools and communities.
During a recent sabbatical, while caring for a family member, I began creating printables for those supporting children's mental health and emotional well-being.
As a mixed-race and neurodivergent person supporting a neurodivergent family, I understand how identity, culture, and neurodivergence shape the way mental health is experienced. In my counselling work, I’ve also seen how traditional “one-size-fits-all” approaches to communication can fall short. Not everyone communicates best through words alone, so I began developing resources that use visual aids to support expression, understanding, and connection.
Drawing on both my counselling and design background, through A Curious Space Ltd, I now create and share well-mental health printables that guide emotional exploration, strengthen wellbeing, and nurture connection between young people and the adults who care for them — especially in moments when verbal communication, focus, or working memory may feel challenging. My aim is to make these resources as accessible as possible, so that mental health support can begin where it’s needed most: at home, in schools, and within our communities.
