AFD group Story
AFD group is a design duo formed in 2011 by Vasily Barbier and Sergey Amelkov. Both of Russian origin, and currently residing in Istanbul, Turkey from 2022.
Sergey Amelkov is a professional artist with a master's degree from the National Academy of Fine Arts. He has been painting since early childhood, and is especially fond of the art of miniatures.
Vasily Barbier graduated from the State Humanitarian University with a degree in Liberal Arts. His true passion has always been the history of fashion. After gaining interest in fashion dolls, he became a well-known expert, and the author of numerous articles on fashion doll history on the Russian internet.
With its focus on, but not limited to portrait dolls, AFD group's mission is to embody the beauty of art, fashion and remarkably inspiring personas in the form of fashion dolls, thus paying homage to those granting them inspiration, and a will to create and express themselves in a form that best suits them.
