Timeless ceramics, natural glazes, right out of the hearth of the Italian Alps
Pots from the Alps, functionality and art in ceramics
Alpott was founded by me in 2025 and comes from the combination of two words, "Alps" and "Pottery".
"Alpine pottery," so to speak. This is due to the physical location, but also to locally used glaze raw materials.
The logo shows a potter's wheel with a good lump of clay on it.
At the same time, the initials "T" and "A" are also hidden within it.

Clay and ceramics entered my life when I was 29 years old.
Fascinated by the possibility of working with all the elements, of pursuing a creative and at the same time manual activity, I tried to gather as much information about it as possible and literally absorb it.
Overwhelmed by the variety of design possibilities, firing techniques, glazes, raw materials and manufacturing processes, I could imagine for the first time wanting to do something for a lifetime.
Many aspects of our lives on this planet converge in ceramics:
Geology, physics, chemistry, mathematics, botany, etc.
I can't put it any other way, ceramics is truly alchemy.
This work with the physical body, in conjunction with the creative power of one's own mind, fascinated me so much that in 2021 I decided to move 1100km to Northern Germany to learn the skill of wheel throwing in a pottery workshop for almost 3 years as a side job in my free time.
Alpott wurde 2025 von mir gegründet und kommt aus der Zusammenfügung zweier Wörter, "Alps" und "Pottery".
"Alpine Töpferei", sozusagen. Dies begründet sich durch die physische Lokalisation, aber auch durch lokal verwendete Glasurrohstoffe.
Das Logo zeigt eine Töpferscheibe mit einem guten Batzen Ton darauf.
Zugleich verstecken sich darin auch die Initialen "T" und "A"
für Tobias Auer.
Ton und die Keramik traten in mein Leben als ich 29 Jahre alt war.
Fasziniert von der Möglichkeit mit allen Elementen zu arbeiten, einer kreativen und zugleich handwerklichen Tätigkeit nachzugehen, versuchte ich so viel wie möglich an Informationen darüber anzusammeln und buchstäblich auf zu saugen.
Überwältigt von der Vielfalt an Möglichkeiten von Designs, der Brände, der Glasuren, deren Rohstoffe und Herstellungen, konnte ich mir das erste Mal vorstellen, etwas ein Leben lang machen zu wollen.
In der Keramik fließen viele Bereiche unseres Lebens auf diesem Planeten zusammen:
Geologie, Physik, Chemie, Mathematik, Botanik, etc.
Ich kann es nicht anders sagen, bei Keramik handelt es sich wahrlich um Alchemie.
Diese Arbeit mit dem physischen Körper, in Verbindung mit der Schaffenskraft des eigenen Geistes, faszinierten mich so sehr, dass ich beschloss 2021 1100km nach Norddeutschland zu ziehen, um dort in einem Töpfereibetrieb die Fähigkeit des Scheibentöpferns für knappe 3 Jahre nebenberuflich in meiner Freizeit zu erlernen.
