Intro - Fly me to the Moon (Frank Sinatra)
Everything started on December 2012. I am a bachelor degree architect and I was having a Master at the Bauhaus, Germany, when I realized it didn't suit me at all.
EVERYONE TELL YOU TO FOLLOW YOUR DREAMS but it's not that simple. Anyway, I couldn't help but give up with architecture.
Chorus - Twist and Shout (The Beatles)
So I decided to start something NEW, creative and Exclusive, Elegant, UNIQUE.
Something that I had to make on my own from the research of the objects to the final treatments. AM Florence was born.
Verse - On a Plain (Nirvana)
I love Vintage. I decided to work with Vintage objects because they simply are saturated with stories, worn out by lives and imaginary travels. I just fell in love with them.
Bridge - Someday (The Strokes)
Susteinable design. A large amount of Vintage objects are in pretty bad conditions, so people throw them away or keep them in their basements covered by tons of dust. I decided to give a new life to those objects, to make them shine once more with a new skin but still keeping the main features that make them look proudly original. Erasing or blurring their stories would be outrageous, not fair.
Our design is made with cotton paper (a mixture of papper and cotton fibers), a natural, high quality and sustainable kind of design!
Special - Travelling without Moving (Jamiroquai)
What now? AM Florence is still a small independent brand so I'm definitely always looking ahead towards the future. Vintage pieces are perfect for privates but at the same time they are usually an issue for retailers. So I designed a my own new Luxury Collection (now available with both Morris and Manuscript Custom) of Steamer Trunks, Suitcases, briefcases, portable cabinets and more inspired by the Vintage pieces, with a Vintage Look but absolutely brand new.
The quality is definitely higher, I use 9mm plywood, brass nails, antique brass style hardware, faux leather and I make these pieces using the old techniques used for the original Vintage pieces.
I always strive to give the best quality and best design to my clients, I want my works to be elegant and refined, and I believe this new Collection is meeting these requirements pretty well.
