The 5 liter wooden barrel with lid arrived safely in a well padded box and it is GREAT! It is perfect for storing honey or grains and it’s looks won’t get you kicked out of an historical reenactment event, either. The barrel is solid and very well made, with the staves fitting tightly.

Suitable for pickling. I already made Slavic-style pickled cucumbers and got perfect results. No leaking. Just keep in mind that real wood swells when it gets wet, so you might experience some difficulty sealing a dry lid onto a wet barrel. Overall, I love it.
