Le sorprendenti torrette del terzo piano e le grandi scale in legno intagliato nelle case intorno a me sono ciò che per primo mi ha fatto interessare all'architettura vittoriana, sempre notevole, del XIX e XX secolo. Ho adorato la complessità dei bellissimi dettagli presenti in ogni casa che ho visto, dentro e fuori. Sembrava che gli edifici avessero una storia da raccontare su tutti gli abitanti del passato e su come venivano vissute le loro vite. Sapevo che alla fine avrei voluto vivere e prendermi cura di una casa storica da allora!
Una volta che mi sono trasferito in una casa della Regina Anna del 1912, ho iniziato a curare la mia collezione di tutto ciò che è antico e mi sono davvero concentrato sull'apprendimento di ogni pezzo che ho incontrato. Istruirmi sui diversi prodotti e stili per la casa durante questo periodo è stato affascinante per me. Mi sono fissato sulla storia dei beni che avrei trovato mentre perlustravo negozi dell'usato, vendite immobiliari e simili. Molti di questi oggetti avevano una storia audace da raccontare, sia attraverso i loro usi stravaganti che attraverso stili meravigliosi e inconfondibili che semplicemente non possono essere replicati da oggetti moderni.
Condividere i molti articoli che trovo nelle mie ricerche è stato un passo successivo naturale per me, poiché ho subito capito che ho una vera passione per collegare gli altri a questi prodotti di qualità. Gli oggetti d'antiquariato mi portano un tipo speciale di gioia e arricchimento, e spero di poterti offrire sensazioni simili qui nel mio negozio!
Striking, 3rd story turrets and grand, carved wood staircases in houses all around me are what first got me interested in the, always notable, Victorian architecture of the 19th and 20th century. I loved the intricacy of the beautiful details that were present in each house I saw, inside and out. It felt like the buildings had a story to tell of all the past inhabitants, and how their lives were lived. I knew that I wanted to eventually live in, and care for, a historic house ever since!
Once I moved into a 1912, Queen Anne home myself, I began to curate my own collection of all things antique, and really leaned into learning about each piece I encountered. Educating myself about the different products and styles for the home during this period was fascinating to me. I became fixated on the history of the goods I would find while scouring thrift stores, estate sales, and the like. Many of these items had a bold story to tell, either through their quirky uses or wonderful, unmistakable styles that simply cannot be replicated by modern items.
Sharing the many items I find in my searches was a natural next step for me, as I quickly realized that I have a true passion for connecting others to these quality goods. Antiques bring me a special kind of joy and enrichment, and I hope I can provide you with similar feelings here in my shop!
