I began inkle weaving as a teenager in the 1970's and it's been my life's passion! I enjoy playing with color and patterns to create unique and useful woven items. My blog, ASpinnerWeaver.com and my two books are ways that I pass on my knowledge. I'm also available to teach workshops for weaving guilds, yarn shops, conferences, etc. Or send me a message if you are traveling to New Mexico. I am happy to teach private lessons in my home.

The weaving room at my house. Also known as "The Color Lab".
One of my favorite weaving spots on the back deck.
I have many inkle looms. In this photo 5 of them are busy with projects.
My tiniest loom, an Ashford Inklette set up to weave 1/2" silk ribbon.

Inkling my way through life.........

I am a passionate and prolific inkle weaver.
At the age of 17 I saw my first inkle loom and with the help of a library book and my dad, I built myself one. Now I own 10 inkle looms, some home-made and some made by large manufacturers. Each has it's own purpose. One for wider pieces, one for longer pieces, and one to pack in the suitcase for travel.

Inkle looms produce warp-faced bands, no wider than 6 inches.
Even with such a narrow constraint, I find endless ways to combine colors into patterns, constantly finding new materials, techniques and inspirations.

I enjoy custom orders and special requests. If you can't find what you are looking for, we can work together to create something special combing your vision and my talent.
