I have loved to craft since I was a little girl! I would spend every summer growing up with my grandparents and me and my grandmother would come up with project after project to do. It was a BLAST and she was my best friend that taught me so much! When I was 10 she gifted me my first sewing machine and showed me everything I needed to know to use it. We made purses, dresses, doll clothes, really anything just to try out and loved to stay busy with the thread. It was always a dream of mine to embroider and get my own embroidery machine. However, I grew up, got summer jobs, went off to college, got married, got a big girl job, and then had my first born. Three months after my son was born, I lost my grandmother and it was the hardest loss I've ever experienced. Months later my husband and I were in a position where I was able to quit my job and become a stay at home mom while I finished my masters. During my time at home and in between school work, I got a silhouette just to keep me busy and crafting and I loved that it reminded me so much of my time with my grandmother. We were always at our best when we had a Diet Coke in one hand and a project in the other.LOL Two years later, I graduated with my masters and on the day of my graduation I had our second born, our baby girl. As most of you know, little girls need everything monogrammed and so I decided to purchase my first embroidery machine. It was a brother, single needle that only did up to a 4x4 hoop, which I quickly became comfortable with and outgrew to a single needle with 5x7. Three years later, we were blessed with our third baby another girl! And since, sadly time has been a thief and they have done nothing but grow and head off to school one by one. So with that I have gotten a multi needle embroidery, which now after typing this seems like I got a new machine with each child.LOL But throughout the years I have still loved creating for so many reasons.
1. Still feel close to my grandmother when I am hard at work on a project
2. Many projects have produced a way to hold memories of my babies and the many milestones that come and go
3. Creating for every occasion and making it a big deal brings so much excitement to my kids that I can just not imagine it any other way!
