The bag is totally hand painted, and it looks like I could have bought it in a store. It's a fantastic quality, and just altogether well-done. Plus the shop owner herself is an absolute sweetheart. All in all, what's not to love?

The part I'm focusing in this review is the part that AlexisDesire had within her control, which was the backpack painting - and let me tell you it is stunning. She did a great job, painting the sidemesh and leaving the frontmesh blank which makes a lot of sense to me since you can see your water bottle in your sidepocket, but it's nice to be able to see the items in the frontmesh. The straps, the back, and the handle don't have any paint on them, except a few little white speckles here and there which remind me of stars anyway. I like the fact that she kept it all nice and clean there so I don't worry about anything getting on me ever (even though it wouldn't since the backpack is washable). Some people might be annoyed that inside of the front flap isn't painted all the way up to the top where the canvas is, but I like it!
