Giving archaeology tool kits a student friendly make over!
Hi there, I’m Rosemary Mayne, but everyone calls me Rosie – I'm the creator, owner and sewist for All Things AAFS!
I’m a 23 year old recent graduate from Bournemouth, where I obtained a 2:1 BSc (Hons) degree in Archaeological, Anthropological and Forensic sciences (AAFS) at Bournemouth University in 2013. After finishing my degree I decided to create a way to share my AAFS knowledge with others who share a passion for uncovering the past, so I set up my own website; www.AllThingsAAFS.com .
It has only been recently that I have decided to combine my two favourite things; archaeology and sewing!
After creating my own handy little tool kit for keeping my tools organised when I go on excavations - I decided to make a few more and see if others would like their own unique, hand crafted archaeology and anthropology tool kits which are the perfect companions for the 4inch archaeology trowel!
Each of my tool kit creations are hand made and sewn by myself and are made with students in mind. When I create a unique tool kit I ensure that I fill it using high quality tools but ensuring that I'm selling them at affordable prices to fit a university budget to make sure that all budding archaeologists have a reliable tool kit!
If you're specialising in anthropology, I have created a skeletal/delicate materials friendly kit which will give you accurate digging without posing a threat to your fragile remains or transferring metallic flakes to finds, or if you’re into pure archaeology I have a small finds tool kit that has all the stainless steel tools that you need to unearth the past!
