Frequently asked questions

Are Alpaca Fiber Products Itchy?

Alpaca is as silky and soft as cashmere and is one of the world's smoothest, finest and most luxurious natural fibers.

Alpaca wool is lighter, stronger and five times warmer that sheep's wool.

Alpaca fibers contains NO lanolin, which makes it hypoallergenic. Lanolin is referred to as “wool wax” which holds dust and microscopic allergens that create allergies to wool. People that have wool based allergies will NOT be allergic to alpaca.

Alpaca fibers are not prickly or itchy next to the skin.

The unique properties of alpaca fibers means that it does not require harmful chemical processing washes before the yarn can be spun.

Care Instructions for Alpaca Socks

Alpaca Socks can be washed inside-out on Cold with your regular wash load items. They should, however, be let to air dry, to preserve the life of the item. Alpaca socks can be worn several times before washing as they are naturally microbial.

Recycled Shipping Materials

As a fully sustainable fiber farm, we often re-use clean shipping materials to reduce our carbon footprint on the environment.

Where are the products made?

Most of our items (soaps, sprays, pet toys, dryer balls, etc) are made right on our farm here in Pennsylvania.

Our socks and yarns are made by partner Fiber Mills.

Our Alpaca Fleece Plushies are produced with our partner artisans in Peru.

Our garments (scarves, hats, gloves) are mill produced by production partners or crocheted/knitted by us in with our alpaca yarns.

Shipping for the Holidays

With the holiday season coming up, I couldn't be more excited! However, with the holiday excitement comes some obstacles. I use USPS & UPS for ALL of my shipping. All orders are shipped with tracking number information.

With this season comes weather events, employees calling out due to sickness and just general shipping delays. I will continue to ship within and before my ship date, however, there may be delays in delivery.

Orders placed after December 16th - there will be NO guarantees of Delivery before Christmas morning!

***I will not issue refunds due to shipping delays***

Why wear Alpaca?

•Alpaca is hypoallergenic & will not irritate or scratch your skin, so most people that are "allergic" to wool can wear alpaca.
•Alpaca is warmer & stronger than wool but as soft as cashmere.
•Alpaca fleece does not contain lanolin like wool.
•Alpaca socks are extremely popular due to the fact that alpaca wicks away moisture leaving your feet cozy and comfortable. Sports socks made with alpaca, bamboo & cotton can be worn year round.
•Alpaca does not attract static electricity, which otherwise may attract dust.
•Alpaca fiber is flame retardant.
•Alpaca is warmer than wool because alpaca fiber contains air pockets in each fiber which creates extremely warm but lightweight garments.
•Alpaca repels water so rain water can easily be blotted up.
