Hi there! Welcome to Altered Angles, a place where facial differences and all kinds of beauty are celebrated through watercolor painting. My name is Ariel Henley. I'm a writer and artist in the SF Bay Area. My work centers around normalizing differences. As a child, I never saw artwork of faces that looked like mine unless there was something "wrong" with the character. I want to normalize differences for everyone, and I really want children to know that there is no wrong way to have a face. That's why I paint people with crooked eyes. Because in the art world, physical differences and/or disfigurements are often used to symbolize pain or suffering. But I believe people with craniofacial conditions and other facial differences should get to see faces like theirs represented in art in a positive way. My art is my way of trying to help people see beauty in faces that may or may not look like theirs.

Dispatch was fine Ariel was fab about checking in (as delivery was during Covid pandemic) and her response times were incredibly quick. Arrived to the UK in perfect condition. Thank you.
