Naturally Creative
I am a wife and mother with an uncontainable creative spirit. I paint, write, and compose to explore my faith and the beauty of Creation.
Much of my art depicts wildlife or religious themes. I prefer using natural pigments and mixing my own acrylic based paint. My signature color scheme features a limited palette focused on warm earth tones and highlighted with metallic copper.
I began creating artisan jewelry as a way to practice wire and metal sculpting techniques for larger mixed media works. As I have been a "rock hound" since I could walk, picking out stones and designing settings that complement their natural beauty quickly became a passionate pursuit. Keeping with the same style as my fine art, I am drawn to natural stones, particularly ones with rich "earthy" tones or stones of the southwest. My favorites include turquoise, Jasper, Quartz, and agate. Most of the settings for my jewelry are created from copper using a variety of techniques.
