I fell in love with yarn on my early twenties, when I begged my mom to teach me how to knit. Discovering the world of handmade was very empowering.
At the beginning of 2012, due to an illness, I was stuck in my hometown in Spain without any of my knitting stuff. I decided to teach myself how to crochet to keep my mind and hands busy. I discovered the world of amigurumi shortly after, and had me hooked ever since.
I started selling on shops and on Facebook as soon as I felt confident to do so, under the local brand "Amigurumi Torino" (original, right?). I started creating my own patterns pretty much form the beginning (the little octopus featured as my shop cover were my very first pattern!). To this day, I have made and sell hundreds of amigurumis, most of them custom orders and on craft fairs.
I design my patterns having in mind the makers that sell: they are medium size, simple, use basic colors and have basic embellishments. The patterns are well explained and completed with a lot of pictures to allow finishing the amigurumi in no time at all! I also allow the selling of the final product everywhere.
I want to empower people -and specially women- that for one reason or another only have their hands as a mean of sustenance or need a side-hustle that can be made at home.
Despite a lot of job and life changes, amigurumis have been a constant in my life since I crocheted the very first one. They bring me joy and a sense of purpose and belonging.
If you purchase an "amigurino", I hope it keeps you company for many many years and brings you a smile every single day.
