Have you ever met an angry goat?
Yes, I really do have goats – three sweet Nigerian Dwarf does, in fact – and no, they are not actually angry. 😊 The name of my shop reflects my silly and dry sense of humor sometimes common to New Englanders, and my love of making people smile and laugh.
I have been obsessed with ceramics for more than 30 years now (yikes, that makes me feel pretty old!). Clay is an endlessly versatile medium with which one can make almost anything, and I am fascinated by the process of taking an idea and turning it into something tangible that has the potential to become an heirloom.
My work is mostly functional, with some decorative pieces thrown in, and is inspired by my love of shared meals and conversation around the table at our tiny farm in rural Vermont, and the natural world that surrounds us. You will see botanical and animal motifs that change with the seasons, heavily influenced by my actual day-to-day experiences living in the countryside. When I do my job well, my ceramics are functional art; pieces you can use in your home – needful things, if you will – that are also beautiful to look at.
