Sourcing, restoring, and preserving exceptional 20th-century design for the sustainable home.
Welcome to Arca Curation.
We source, restore, and preserve authentic 20th-century furniture, lighting, and industrial statement pieces. Based in Belfast, our focus is strictly on structural integrity, exceptional original wood grains, and the timeless beauty of 20th-century design movements—spanning from the organic details of the Arts & Crafts movement and the bold geometries of the Art Deco era to classic mid-century modern design.
What Inspires Us
We are inspired by the ingenuity of the design and architectural weight of 20th-century furniture. There is something incredibly rewarding about finding a forgotten design asset—whether it is a parched solid elm Ercol table, a geometric 1930s oak mirror, or a rare industrial medical lamp—and bringing it back to a beautiful, deep glow. We believe furniture and lighting should act as functional art sculptures in a space, providing character and quality that mass-produced modern alternatives simply cannot replicate.
Our Commitment to Sustainability
For us, vintage curation is the ultimate form of sustainable living. We don't believe in the modern loop of throwaway culture or mass-producing cheap materials at the expense of the planet. Every time we rescue and restore a 20th-century asset, we are keeping incredible craftsmanship out of landfill and honouring materials that grew decades ago. By choosing authentic vintage furniture and lighting, you are investing in a circular economy and introducing a completely carbon-neutral, zero-waste statement piece into your home.
How We Create & Restore
Every single item in our collection is hand-selected and carefully evaluated for its structural pedigree. Our restoration loop is low-intervention and deeply therapeutic. Rather than stripping away history with harsh chemical varnishes, we work entirely by hand in our dedicated, climate-controlled studio vault using only sustainably made materials for the restoration process.
Using high-efficiency moisture management to protect the organic fibres of the wood, we meticulously hand-clean the surfaces with natural citrus mixtures and feed parched grains with rich, natural oils. The result is a stabilised, museum-grade vintage asset with a deep, authentic lustre, fully prepped to step straight into its next residential or commercial home.
Viewing of items in person is welcomed but by appointment only.
