Greek Art and Design with love from Athens to the Whole World
Arch Studio Gallery was founded in the early 1980's by two siblings: Greek architect Spiridon Ballas and Greek artist Helen Dimitriou and worked successfully for years serving an international clientele.
In 1997 Arch Studio Gallery was passed on to Louisa (Helens' daughter) and the business name became the registered brand name for Louisa's designs and handmade creations (Arch StudioGallery-Louisa Dimitriou).
Since 1998 the new Arch Studio Gallery designs are promoted in art shops located in museums, foundations and art galleries.
Louisa's art is handmade and is the outcome of inspiration and love for creation. Each design is made in a sculpture, a sculpted object or a handmade jewel from materials such as plaster, clay or sculpting wax. Through casting each one is transformed in bronze, aluminium, gold or fine silver. The only time where Louisa does not participate hands on in the creative procedure but is always present in the process, is when the initial design is to be sand cast in the Foundry. After the sand cast her creations return to her workshop where she cleans, shines and finishes her designs.
Louisa also works directly on materials such as marble, wood or Perspex. She often uses mixed techniques to refine and finish her designs (acrylics, resins, glues and enamel colors), as well as traditional means such as welding and oxidization. For marble and stone sculpting she uses traditional tools. She uses diverse materials for her jewelry such as bronze, fine silver, gold, precious and semiprecious stones, recycled materials, felt wool, fabrics and mashed paper.
Every artwork comes with the artist’s CV and authenticity certificate.
