What keeps my fire lit...
You know that fluttery feeling you get on the inside when you read a good fantasy book that helps you escape from real life? Or when you watch Lord of the Rings for the 100th time and you don't get sick of it because it feeds the little part of you that longs to be a part of something so otherworldly and fantastical? Those feelings are what keep the flame inside my soul lit, that help me show up to the boring stressful day job that pays my bills and not give up on life.
Creativity is such a beautiful thing... It looks different to everyone, it feeds us in different ways, and we can use it to channel the inner pieces of our soul that need to escape or express themselves or be healed. Fantasy to me is not just a silly kid thing... It's a safe-space where I can let my unhealed and repressed inner child be free, run wild, dream about the impossible and create the possible. Creating cosplay items with my hands makes it feel even more real and tells my inner child you are safe now.
This is why every item I make for someone is created with so much love, intention, and gratitude. I guarantee you the pouch I made, or get the opportunity to make for you, was created with ethereal music playing in the background or an audiobook about an orc opening a coffeeshop or a TV show where witches, demons, and vampires time travel to the medieval era.
