*If customers are not available to sign for their purchase/s Royal Mail will leave a ‘something for you’ calling card explaining that they have attempted a delivery. Customers either have a choice to collect the item from their local delivery office or they can arrange re-delivery via the number displayed on the card.

Please note that Royal Mail do not deliver on Sundays or during public bank holiday dates, so do not count these as delivery days.

For Customers outside of the UK
As standard practice all international purchases are sent ‘international signed for delivery’*. When purchasing your item please ensure you select the correct country for shipment, upon doing so you will be given the correct delivery costs. Please note that delivery costs vary in accordance with weight. All international customers should expect to receive their purchase within 4-10 working days of payment.

*Purchases shipped using international signed for services are tracked until they leave the UK, and only handed over at the delivery destination once a signature has been obtained.

Additional policies and FAQs

Clothing care
Whether you are an old hand at buying vintage or are new to this wonderful world please consider the following…
Whilst every AT item has been hand sourced and carefully inspected, customers are reminded that vintage correlates with the past, so it is not unusual to a find a little wear and tear with some pieces. Please be assured that any detected incidences of wear and tear found during the beady eye inspection process will always be reported within listings.
It is worth noting that fans and advocates of vintage may see a little wear and tear as part of the appeal. After all when buying vintage you are buying a little piece of history - each piece with a story of its own.
Where possible items are cleaned, however, we cannot guarantee this due to the sometimes specific nature of care.
AT tips for washing and drying vintage garments
• Due to age - slight odours can be expected with vintage garments, AT recommends firstly airing to remove any odours. As a general rule customers should refrain from washing vintage clothing too often.
• If a label is available customers are advised to firstly check the specified wash and care instructions. If unsure consult with a good local dry cleaner who will be able to advise on the best course of cleaning care.
• Hand washing is the often the gentlest and most effective method used to wash some vintage garments. However please be mindful of the temperature of water, and any detergents used when cleaning coloured or delicate clothing. It can also be useful to pre-test clothing before engaging in a full wash, this is suggested to ensure the dye does not bleed.
• Customers should take the same care when drying vintage clothing and should refrain from using tumble dryers. Aim to dry clothes folded over a towel rack and separate with a white towel. To minimise stretch clothes can be laid flat on a white towel to dry.
