...about "ART FOR LOFT"
I remember myself painting as far as my memory goes : pencils, paper and paints were my favorite toys. Sheet of paper was something that can turn into anything I dreamt of. When I had to choose what I will make for a living, I have chosen interior design. During planning how my own apartment will look, I wanted to decorate walls with something not only beautiful but also meaningful. That's how I came to an idea to use flags of places where my friends or family members live. When they come to visit me, everyone can find a part of his home. I've started with Great Britain, Scotland and Ireland flags. But now, the list of flags is much longer and still grows.
Every flag is hand made. Process has several different steps and takes a lot of time. Every painting is made of four layers of different stuff. The most crucial part is where I remove black tint from the painting. New parts of painting become visible with every stroke. Final result depends on strokes strength, speed and even on my mood. Every time even the flag of the same country is different and no two pieces are exactly the same.
Why this painting technique? I like it so much, because event I, as an author, don't know how it will turn out until the very end of the process.
