All of my life I've been an artist of some sort, scribbling under chairs and tables as a child, sketching everything I saw as a teenager and finally taking art classes at a college level but Clinical Psychologist was my focus. After having children I became a stay at home mom but still sketched off and on. I really didn't start painting until my last daughter went off to college in 2011. Mostly self taught but remembered little things from the college classes I had done but daily practicing helped me grow more than any classroom.
I soon discovered that landscapes especially trees became a favorite subject followed by oceans and flower fields and abstracts especially flowers. Painting people is not something I am attracted to doing at least for now. Pet portraits I have done for friends and family so animals could show up here at any time but for now nature landscapes are my happy place.
Presently I live in the foothills in Colorado with my hubby Dave and love recreating the beautiful mountain scenes around me that I call home. The aspen trees especially fascinate me even more so in the fall! I like to go on day hikes and will usually take many photo's to bring back to my home studio.
You will also discover many ocean and tropical paintings among my work. I am lucky to have family living in Hawaii, Florida and California to visit and bring back the many inspirations for my canvas.
Being an artist is very awarding both mentally and spiritually and I feel blessed my artwork is now in many collector's homes both in the US and Internationally. Along with Gallery featured, I am also an active member of "Into Impressionism, Women Painters, Landscape Artists" where we meet up and discuss, critique each other and learn more about our common interests leading to more creativity!
