We decided we both love birds!
As I have always made and sold Art of some description it seemed fitting when David started taking pictures a few years ago that I should have a go at re- creating some of the beautiful birds he photographed. I did my first bird experiment using paper mache and recycled paper as I always like to include an element of eco friendliness in my Art.
Much to my surprise it worked out well and the rest is history as they say, we like to educate folks a little about the nature and always include some relevant text information on the piece if possible.
I work from my studio in a converted water mill in the Village of Barrowford, Higherford Mill. Overlooking the river Pendle water and an ancient pack horse bridge from the middle ages. Looking out of my window and walking along the picturesque river bank, helps to fuel my creativity for creating new art as I observe the wonderful variety of abundant bird life.
Only by loving and learning about the wildlife around us can we help to protect it for the future of out children.
I also include some mosaic pieces as I have worked as a mosaic artist and teacher for years, again using recycled china and bits and pieces as unusual tesserae.
I hope you enjoy our work and if you have any questions please ask.
