A beautifully made and unique hair pin! It is very pretty as well as sturdy enough to keep all my long hair up. The hair fork arrived quickly and was well packaged. I love it! :)

About

Welcome to Ashar on Etsy

WELCOME TO HANDMADE!
Please visit my website: Ashargemswearableart.com

I design for those who do not subscribe to trends. We women and men are on a perpetual treasure hunt, digging, collecting, sketching and photographing to obtain the perfect inspiration. This is key to my designs. They are unique and a bit quirky but always encompass the movement I see all around me whether it be animal, vegetable or mineral.

I love working with copper which is my metal of choice. I oftentimes pair it with other metals like silver, gold and bronze. Copper is warm, earthy, exotic and appeals to the artistically inclined, and the non-traditional women/man who open doors and take chances. I often incorporate pearls, glass beads, Roman glass, and precious/semi-precious stones to my pieces. Some inspiration comes from the Art Nouveau/Deco periods in history, from the beginning of the century to approximately 1950. My jewellery is fluid and moves along with the wearer. in one way or other.

Drop that pair of mass-produced earrings and come over to the copper and handmade side!!

Want to know more about copper?

Copper is a chemical element (symbol cu) with the corresponding atomic number of 29. It is a ductile and malleable metal with a very high level of electric conductivity. Copper was used by the Egyptians and Romans for drinking water purification, public hygiene and as an essential nutrient for health and prevention of illness. Copper’s anti-bacterial properties were useful in slowing the spread of illnesses long before microbes and bacteria were discovered.

I am proud to offer you my handmade jewelry pieces. It is my hope that should you decide to purchase an item, this piece was especially made for YOU!

Please note that all pieces are crafted by hand and no two pieces are identical. You will see the slight variances in the product. In addition, please allow for slight differences from what is shown in custom order photos.

Please take a moment to look through my policies/procedures and FAQ’s. Hopefully the information will assist you in making a decision to purchase.

♥Thank you for supporting my shop and all things handmade!

Payment
♥Accepted Methods of Payment:
Paypal, MasterCard, Visa, Discover, American Express, Check, or Money Order.
If preferred, I can invoice you directly, or take a payment over the phone.
If you are paying by Check or Money Order your purchase will be mailed once it arrives. There is a $38 charge for insufficient funds on returned checks simply to cover my bank's fee. Washington Sate residents will be charged sales tax during checkout.

It is an expectation that payment for your purchase is made within 3 days. If the order is unpaid or I have not heard from you, the order will be canceled . All orders are carefully packed with care in new jewelry boxes.

♥LAYAWAY ORDERS:
I accept layaway orders. An immediate 50% deposit will be required and the remaining 50% within 30 days. After final payment has been received, your item will ship. If you need a bit more time, please convo me. If final payment has not been received in the required time (30 days or a time agreed upon by you and I), your initial deposit will be forfeited. Important: Layaways are not refundable.

Did you know that Paypal offers financing? Use their Bill Me Later system--it's a PayPal service that gives you access to No Payments + No Interest if paid in full in 6 months on purchases of $99 or more. Yay!

♥CUSTOM ORDERS:
If you would like a custom design, please consult me with your request. If an order should commence, an immediate payment will be required. I will contact you when your item is ready to ship.

I do not accept discounts.
Shipping
♥US Shipping and Handling:
Please make sure that your ship-to address on both the Etsy, credit and Paypal accounts are the same; if they are not, you will be contacted for verification. This may cause a delay in shipping. Prices reflect US shipping and handling. Orders are shipped via USPS First Class mail; mail averages 2-5 business days for delivery. Faster shipping options are available.

♥International Shipping:
International customers may be subject to import duties, fees and taxes, which are levied after a shipment reaches their country. If a shipment is rejected because of customs clearance charges or refusal to accept delivery, the customer will be responsible for any fees incurred, including international shipment and handling.
Customs process times vary by country. Unfortunately, I do not have any control over how long Customs takes to process a package. I recommend you call your Customs office to get current process times and take that information into consideration when deciding the best shipping arrangement for your order, given the time frame you are working with.

♥Insurance:
Insurance is not included in my shipping quotes, but I highly recommend it. If you would like your order insured, you must request insurance before your order is shipped. I am happy to invoice you directly for insurance at any point up until it ships. Just let me know how much you would like your order insured for. I am not responsible for any 'Uninsured' orders if they are stolen or lost once I ship the package.

If your order arrives damaged:
Sometimes strange things can happen in transit. In the event that an item arrives damaged, I will gladly repair the piece at no cost to you.
Refunds and Exchanges
♥Returns::
I want you to love the item(s) you purchase. The items I create are handmade, one-of-a-kind or limited edition. I offer returns if you contact me within 7 days of your confirmed delivery. To qualify, the item(s) MUST be in the same condition when packaged, and with the ORIGINAL packing materials. There will be a 15% re-stocking fee to be deducted from the original purchase price.

♥Custom Orders:
Custom orders have been specifically requested and designed by the client; Unfortunately, I cannot accept a return simply because a client does not like the piece.

♥EXCHANGES:
Exchanges will receive a credit for the full purchase price, less shipping and handling charges, towards a new item. An exchange will be sent out as soon as the original item is received and in new and unused condition.

Refunds are given in the same method as the original payment.
Additional policies and FAQs
♥How I use the information I collect:
I do not ever sell or share your personal information with a third party. Any of the personal information I am privy to is strictly for the purposes of confirming and shipping your order. Contact information (email address, telephone number, address etc.) is used to get in touch with you when necessary. Financial information (credit card number, credit card expiration date, billing information, etc.) is used only to bill you, or to ship items purchased at Ashar Gems.

This policy may be updated at any time. I will post any changes to my privacy policy on this page so that you are always aware of the information that I collect and how I use it. If, at any time, you have questions or concerns about Ashar Gems, please feel free to e-mail me at: Khanome [!at] yahoo.com.

Prices are subject to change without prior notice. Items or objects shown in photographs that are used to display pertinent features of jewelry are for illustrative purposes only. I reserve the right to correct any errors, inaccuracies or omissions and to change or update information at any time without prior notice. I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you.

♥How do I care for my new jewelry?
The metals/components I use are fine silver (.999) (with the exception of Hill Tribe beads, which are 97.5 %pure silver), copper (99.9%) and 14K gold/rose gold-filled metals. All precious metals tarnish with time. I highly recommend that you purchase a polishing cloth to clean and polish your pieces. A cloth removes tarnish from gold, silver and copper and returns that lustrous shine. Keep jewelry stored away from dirt and dust particles. I do not recommend ultra-sonic machines for the care of your jewelry. In addition, I do not recommend spraying perfumes or using scented body lotions AFTER you put on your jewelry.

♥Pearls:
DO Not use abrasive material(s) when cleaning your pearls. Mild soap and water is recommended. Please note the aforementioned recommendations regarding the application of perfumes and lotions.

♥Precious metal(s):
For some of us, gold (the lower the carat, the more of a reaction) silver and copper changes according to your body’s reaction and chemical makeup. Why? I do not know. Only you know how you react to pure copper or silver, etc. If you do not, the only thing I can suggest is, “just try it.” Copper reacts to “perspiration” and changes when your body becomes more acidic. The acidity of our bodies appears to be higher when reacting to physical, emotional and mental stress. For more information, consult your physician or use the net to search for specific information.

I use Rhodes American steel wool # 0000 (super fine) to clean my copper. You can find it or a similar brand at Home Depot, Lowes, Harbor Freight, etc.

PLEASE FOLLOW instructions and use eye wear and gloves when using steel wool products. Another eco-friendly cleaner is baking soda and water. I make a paste and let the piece sit in it for a short time, and use a soft toothbrush to clean. Rinse with water. Good for silver and copper.

♥History:
Copper was used by the Egyptians and Romans for drinking water purification, public hygiene and as an essential nutrient for health and prevention of illness. Copper’s anti-bacterial properties were useful in slowing the spread of illnesses long before microbes and bacteria were discovered.
