Written In The Stars
I'm a Northern California native, so my love affair with psychedelic art and astrology started early.
Neither of my parents will *confess* to inhaling anything in the 60s, but my dad treated the Superfreaks of the Bay Area like magnificent exotic animals that you should show your daughter; we spent hours every weekend in sidewalk cafes on Haight Street and Telegraph Avenue just watching the weirdos walk by. Both mom and dad came from conservative places in the world, and so I guess that made them somewhat permissive of their daughter wanting to Live The Californian Dream... lucky for me I went to school for film and followed bands and played in bands and refused to get a real job EVER. Speaking of which... I was an obsessive sticker collector as a kid, but I don't think anyone (especially me) would have guessed that decades later I would be selling stickers for a living. I LOVE WHAT I DO!!!!
I have been slinging 60s and 70s vintage on Etsy for over a decade over at Astral Boutique, and it was a natural progression for me to get into producing a line of psychedelic, 60s-themed Zodiac products. Lucky for me, I have some mega-talented designer friends who are accompanying me on this journey, and bringing my visions to life!
Many of these designs start out as sketches in my notebook, and then are given to my artists to be recreated in their style. Other designs come right from the imagination of the artist. I love the act of coming up with concepts and co-creating a universe of art.
I love how this business brings amazing art to all kinds of people, at every budget, and it's my dream to keep growing it and supporting my family and my friends in a sustainable way. Thanks to everyone who has supported me so far, and I hope even looking at my shop lights the fire of your inspiration!
